A place for all my poetry, regardless of location in other areas of my portfolio |
| My silken scales slither down the ancient tree, Glimpses of slime shimmering in the sun, To the exotic Eve in this Garden of Eden I wiggle-- Temptation is a dance better not left to chance-- I offer up an apple, red, shiny, and with sweet flesh without flaw, Knowledge for a bite, a promise eternally broken. Perhaps she will rule alongside me, leaving Adam behind, To command her own kingdom, worshipped by all-- I know her, trusting, inside and out, tempers flare-- The fire in my eyes matched only by her reputation-- A marriage made upon the angel's hell, purgatory Conquered on Earth as my celestial wedded wife. |
