Tainted Spring
The color of a rose,
My heart knows
Red as velvet
Tinged with regret—
A rush of blood to the head
Says "I love you…" til it's dead.

Sweet white daisies
Dancing like crazy
Free in the breeze
Under the trees—
Petals flutter off one by one
Reflections of a fading sun.

Tulips stand tall
Rainbow skyfall
Streaks and stripes
Sending Dutch vibes—
Under painted glory, broken eggs
Empty shells, a party's dregs.
