What Do I Know About Being Saved?
The commission of one sin forever disqualifies that person from being his or her own savior.

Adam committed the first sin on Planet Earth. His corrupted blood passed the quality of Original Sin onto every human being. We are born sinners. Neither Adam nor any of his human relatives can be their own savior. Every human is forever disqualified from being their own savior.

I have committed many sins. I cannot be my own savior, since I am forever disqualified.

Jesus is the Only Human Who has never committed even one sin. He is forever qualified to be The Only Savior.

Since I am spiritually dead, I cannot make myself spiritually alive. I require outside intervention to be made alive spiritually. (John 3:3; Ezekiel 36:26-27; Philippians 2:13)

The physical life is an excellent illustration of the spiritual life. Physical birth requires the exertions of another in order for me to be born, physically. Spiritual birth requires the exertions of another in order for me to be born, spiritually. Resurrection from physical death requires the exertions of another in order for me to be raised back to life, physically. (Reference: An EMT on the side of a road with 200 joules of electricity bringing a dead accident victim back to life.) Spiritual life from spiritual death requires the exertions of Another. The Holy Spirit of God is The Only One Who can bring a dead spirit to life. (Ezekiel 36:26-27)

Can I trust Jesus as my personal Savior? Not until the Holy Spirit has regenerated me, (John 3:3) and has given me the faith with which to trust Him.

"8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
" (Ephesians 2:8-10, KJV)

The privilege of standing in the Presence of The Lord forever requires the status of perfection (Holiness). Sin is Capital Crime. One sin is the crime against GOD Himself. Punishment of this Capital Crime against God is His Everlasting Wrath. God's Wrath cannot be equated to an angry whim or tantrum. God's Wrath is the Judicial meting of Justice, which requires everlasting punishment in God's Prison, called HELL.

Eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden was the first human sin. Adam and his blood line was forever changed. Existence as a human has Original Sin interwoven through the DNA of that existence. Adam committed the sin, and all humans are guilty, due to bad blood from father, Adam.

The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20) are a package Deal. This is the continued guilt of every human, personally. Break one of the Ten Commandments, and you (and I) are guilty of breaking every commandment.

It is hard to write about this because it is such a weighty subject. Few humans will be in the Presence of The Lord, forever, and all of those will be there due to the Perfect Merits of Jesus Christ, His Only Son. (John 3:16) The Substitutionary Atonement of Jesus Christ pays for every sin as well as the Sin Nature of every Elect soul. The Substitutionary Perfection of Jesus Christ stands in place of the imperfection of every Elect member of the Body of Christ.

The prophets of the Old Testament often labeled their prophetic books (with the writings contained) as "burdens." The knowledge of human sinfulness against the backdrop of Divine Holiness, along with the Judicial Transaction, that must come at the Hands of Jesus Christ Alone is a heavy burden for any Christian witness/evangelist to bear.

I know my job is to live well as a testimony for Jesus Christ, and speak about our sin and the Good News of Jesus' Salvation from the Wrath of God when I am afforded the opportunity. It's hard not to believe that it all depends on me, but it doesn't. The Lord calls me to faithfulness, not results.

Bottom Line: Humans are elected to be saved by the Free Will of The One Sovereign God.

"15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
" (Romans 9:15-16, KJV)
