Scripture Writing Prompt: Ephesians 6:11-13 11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. We are to take the armor that God gives us...Spiritual Armor, since it is not earthly evil we fight against, but those evil things that are in the spiritual realms. Helmet of Salvation, the Sword of the Spirit (of God) Belt of truth, Breastplate of righteousness, Feet fitted with the gospel of peace. And the shield of faith. Doing all that you can do in your own strength...falling back on God's strength to carry the victory. Just my humble opinion. Prayer prompt: Pray for God to give you spiritual protection from temptation and attacks from the enemy. Blog prompt: Can God's Word be used for harm instead of good? Explain. I believe that God's word can be used to "scripture whip" those who are young or immature Christians. It can be used to guilt or shame them. A more mature Christian can take rebuke if necessary, if they are wrong about certain things, but those who are young or haven't had a lot of understanding can easily be defeated or worse, re-routed from God's plan and run from faith instead of toward it. We are to be guided by love and a genuine interest in helping/encouraging growth in younger Christians. We are no where told to lambast them with the Word. That is part of the problem, I believe. ![]() |
