A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here. |
Still Working On The Final Ritual Spreadsheet Unfortunately, I’m still working on my movie, ‘The Final Ritual,’ and I think that I have maybe just figured it out. The only problem is that it’s for a twenty-five-scene script for every Act instead of twenty or thirty. I tried to do the fifteen, twenty, and thirty. But I couldn’t get it to work. I also tried to do it as a three or four-part mini-series, but I couldn’t do that either, especially the three-part mini-series. It can’t be done as a three-part mini-series. Unfortunately, it took me most of my twelve-hour shift at work to figure this out. It’s not that I didn’t want to do it as a movie; that is the equivalent of two episodes. After all, that is how I’m writing these Act Breakdowns, Story Outlines, and Scene Outlines. I just thought it would be better if it were a three or four-part movie. It looks like I was wrong about that. The main reason why I wanted to write it as a three or four-part movie is that the two-part movie was one-sided. It had no background story. I concentrated on the main storyline and the storylines connected to it. That can still be done. All I need to do is update it that way. I will know in about a couple of hours from now if this is the right spreadsheet format. Of course, I still need to plug in the scenes to see if everyone gets the same number of scenes, especially the fives and tens. The other numbers don’t need to match, but I like the fives and tens to match. That usually isn’t a problem, especially for the main characters, but it can be for the secondary characters. I don’t think that will be the problem with this spreadsheet format. It looks like it should be the same for all six of my characters for this movie. At least I hope that it is. I’m not only verifying these scene numbers for each character. I also do it because they go into my Act Breakdowns and Story Outlines. These scene numbers help me with my Scene Outlines. They also help me when it comes to writing my Scene Outlines. It all connects. Hopefully, I have found my spreadsheet format for this movie. If I have, I should be able to start setting up my Act Breakdown, Story Outlines, and Scene Outlines for this movie. Will I get these documents done during the next twelve hours of my shift? I don’t know. It all depends on whether this spreadsheet format is right for this movie. If it is, it also depends on how long it takes me to verify the scene numbers. I should get started with the setup, and I think I will probably finish it tonight and tomorrow morning at work, but that may just be barely. |
