Every good story starts with a 'what if'. What if a young boy discovers he's a wizard? What if a girl discovers a world hidden inside her wardrobe? What if there was a cemetery where buried pets came back to life? What if dinosaurs were alive again?

In this exercise, imagine your story and your main character(s). Who is(are) the character(s)? What happens to them, and why is it a problem? (If it's not a problem, it's just life, not a story.

Story
         Bootlegging liquor and jewels is illegal. It peaked during the Prohibition and its popularity dwindled slightly at its end. Today, it has regained its popularity through Overseas Marketing by adding money laundering, sex trafficking, and drugs.
         This is a story of a 29-year-old D2 Detective {Detective Sergent) who escapes a 7-year life of physical abuse, consisting of everything from daily beatings to rape by her husband. Her only friends help her to escape Lockwood, Montana, and relocate to San Francisco, CA. Unable to change her occupation, she is hired as a detective by the SFPD.



1. A 29-year-old detective loses her partner of 5 years during a robbery at a convenience store on their way back to the station.
