| I’m doing a time travel story where the main character travels back in time 5 years and interacts with his younger self. Because of this, I have to do this twice, once for each version of my main character. Nolan Navarro, age 25: Nolan had just finished up in the gym, and was heading toward the locker room to shower. He was approached by Glenn Tana. “I want to apologize for all those years of giving you crap, Nolan!” “Thank, Glenn!” Nolan replied. “You’ve proven yourself.” said Glenn. “Your physique is as good as Deuce’s was when he first showed up here five years ago. I’ve never seen a fat to fit transformation like that!” “Natalie and I are getting married tomorrow,” said Nolan. “Without your negative reinforcement, I might not have had the willpower to get in shape!” The next day, the wedding went off without a hitch. After the reception, Nolan and Natalie got in a limousine and were driven to the central coast, where they had booked a hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Deuce, a.k.a. The older version of Nolan, took a bus to San Luis Obispo, then took a taxi to a hotel next to the one where his younger counterpart and Natalie were staying. Nolan Navarro, age 30: When his younger counterpart disappears in the time rift, the older version of Nolan shows up and introduces himself to Natalie, his wife. “Deuce?”Natalie asked. “What are you doing here?” “I’ve been waiting for this to happen!” Nolan explained. “My younger self just got sent back in time to five years ago. All this time it was me pretending to be Deuce!” “So you’re not Nolan’s cousin?” “No, we had to keep up this charade so we wouldn’t get tased by mental health experts!” “I suspected this all along!” Natalie replied. “Do you know why this happened?” “We might never know,” said Nolan. “But without time travel, I might have never gotten lean and muscular, or married you! I know it’s been five years in coming, but how about that protein shake?” |
