My journey from fat to fit! |
| I weighed 281.4 pounds Sunday morning, which is actually less than I thought I would weigh after binging. My EBT was in, and the lady who owns the house in the property where I live offered to take me shopping Monday. I thought about getting canned chili con carne, tortillas and cheese. I ate a meal of Garafolo whole grain pasta with tomato sauce, canned peas, and canned chicken breast. It was so delicious that I changed my mind and plan on getting canned peas and more pasta, and avoiding the cheese altogether. When I went through phases of yo-yo dieting, I would lose a lot of weight, then jump off the wagon and buy cheese with the intention of eating small amounts of it. I would always eat a lot more than I intended to, and gained most of the weight back. I need to recognize when this is about to happen and avoid it. There are certain things in life that are slightly uncomfortable, but we do them because they need to be done. When I started walking before breakfast there were times when I didn’t want to go, but I figured out a way. By drinking herbal tea before hand, it filled my stomach and kept me full enough to walk for the entire hour. Working on my diet is similar to this, it doesn’t take a lot of effort, but it does require a moderate amount of effort. Some time ago I decided to stop buying grapes to save money, but it had a negative side effect. I did save money, but without something healthy and sweet to eat, I got hit with cravings and bought junk foods and wasted even more money. It was a vicious cycle. Monday I went shopping and bought asparagus, broccoli and grapes, among other healthy things. I know now to always have grapes on hand, because they are anabolic and they kill my sugar cravings. |
