Black Friday
Black Friday now is blackest yet.
The light has gone away
for Saturday will soon be set
to bring us that new day.

More shopping will be on the slate
for those, who venture out,
but those with snow upon this date
should hie to home's redoubt.

Black Friday is now in the books,
along with coffered cash.
A month of many weary looks
comes for the ones, who dash.

How did this Christmas season's Joy
devolve to manic thrift?
How do these retail stores employ
with Hope, our hearts to lift?

Black Friday is quite over, now.
A shiner it gave to funds.
Commercialism would have us bow
as dutiful waifs and sons,
but some eschewed to not kowtow
as peace was lately won.
