My journey from fat to fit!

I switched my intermittent fasting schedule from 10am-6pm to 11am-7pm because I needed more time at night to prepare dinner, let it cool off, and eat it. Most people who do intermittent fasting do it from noon to 8pm, but I don’t like waiting that long before eating breakfast.

I made a dentist appointment for mid January, and I have to walk there. It’s three and a half miles away. Now I have a target date to get as lean as I can and get his diet into full gear. Up until now, I knew I would have an appointment in late December or some time in January, but it was up in the air so I didn’t take my diet seriously. I was 281.2 pounds December 1st, so if I can lose ten pounds by the time of my appointment, I’ll be happy.

On Wednesday when I worked in the yard, I noticed that it was easier to bend down for longer periods of time. A couple of years ago I would get tired quickly. This is because I’ve been walking before breakfast every morning. As of Thursday, 12/4/25, I have walked every day for 14 days without slipping a day.

Weight training is like an elixir of life that makes you immortal, but you can’t drink it all at once, you have to drink small amounts of it daily. There were times in my life when I got beat up for being too small, and getting muscular would solve all of those problems.

When it comes to fitness, or sobriety and recovery from drugs and alcohol, I think it’s more about enjoying the journey than reaching the destination.
