A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here. |
Updating ‘The Final Ritual of Hummannan’ Maybe I was partially wrong about why I only got twenty paragraphs written the last twelve hours of my weekend shift at work. I still blame the extremely cold weather and the lack of concentration because of this weather, but that may not be the only reason why I only got twenty paragraphs written for my ‘The Final Ritual of Hummannan’ Story Outline. Another reason could be my scene structure for this movie scriptwriting project. I liked the old way that it was structured, with every other scene for either Dinill or Marri, with the scenes in between them for Kealor, Pallim, Tylmer, or Corma. This way is a whole lot better than the old way, especially when it comes to the Fives and Tens. What do I mean by the Fives and Tens? It means that the Fives and Tens scenes are more action-oriented than the other scenes, especially the Twos, Fours, Sevens, and Nines. This is more of a Drama than an Action/Adventure, even though there will be some Action/Adventure within it. Still, even Dramas can have Action/Adventure without it being Action/Adventure. Action/Adventure doesn’t have to include gun battles, car chases, or life-threatening situations, etc. It can also mean shocks, surprises, questions, or mysteries, etc. That’s what makes it a Drama. The Ones, Threes, Sixes, and Eights scene numbers can also be considered Action/Adventures in this type of Drama, but not as much as the Fives and Tens. Before Dinill or Marri were getting the three Fives in each Act, while Kealor, Pallim, Tylmer, or Corma were getting the two Tens in each Act. Now, it’s the other way around. Dinill or Marri is getting the two Fives and two Tens, while Kealor, Pallim, Tylmer, or Corma is getting the Fifteenth scene number. I like it much better this way. It does have one big problem that I don’t like, but I can live with it because this update makes it a whole lot better than the old one. What is this big problem? The big problem is that Dinill and Marri end one Act together and start the next Act together. That means there is only one scene between the characters instead of two scenes now. Normally, I would try to figure out a way to fix this big problem, but I’m not going to do that this time for a couple of reasons. One reason is that I’m already doing that anyway with this movie. The only difference is that it’s not every other Act that Dinill or Marri begins and ends. Another reason is that this movie is centered around Dinill and Marri. This movie is more about Dinill than Marri, but since they are a couple, it’s centered around both of them. I could have centered it around only Dinill, but I didn’t want to do that. I’m doing that with some of my other movies, but I didn’t want to do it with this one. I don’t like doing it like I am with some of my other movies. That’s another reason. |
