This journal is fiction. The voice you’re reading is a character, not the author.

Station Break – Please Read
The words of the Journal Author.

If you’ve been reading and following Sam’s journal, you already know that you are reading the voice of a young woman who has experienced significant trauma. Sam tells you that she was kidnapped, and that experience changed her in ways that continue long after the event itself.

My goal in writing this journal is not to tell the story of what happened to her in a sensational or graphic way. Instead, I am trying to write from inside the character rather than observing her from a distance. In the past, as I have attended to tell this story, I stayed on the outside, describing events. This time, I am intentionally immersing myself in Sam’s inner world so that her feelings, reactions, and silences speak for her.

What I hope is that, through her words and her memories, readers can come to understand what survival feels like from the inside. Not as a finished victory, but as something ongoing and complicated. I want you to feel what she carries without being told every detail of what she endured.

I know this approach may feel a little unusual. It is quieter, more restrained, and sometimes indirect. But it is intentional. If you find yourself understanding her without being shown everything, then I am reaching the place I hoped to reach.

Thank you for reading with care. There are daily posts and I hope you keep reading. Until tomorrow-

Kind wishes,
Tee
