Concentrate upon the run.
Shoes now ready, mind is too.
Time to put on left, then right.
Jump in place to test when through.

Stretch the muscles on the curb.
Jog a quarter mile to free
each of leg's strong muscle groups.
Find the starting line to be.

The whistle starts the race. We go.
Finishing, great Joy to know.
