Melia's Poetic Place

as there is no place....

As there is no place
for some of my poems,
there is no home
for my emotions.

I can wish and hope all I want but no emotions are welcome to stay anywhere.

I want them
to just have a home.
I place to call their own.
But the simple fact is
no one wants them to stay,
as they only remind others
of the other side of day.

Others try and cheer them up
which makes them feel worse
as if it is not okay
to feel the way they feel.

It is like a trip
to the past,
where emotions
were not okay
only those
that brought joy
were allowed a home.

Now I feel the same.
My emotions can't help
who they are
so just let them feel
the way they feel.

Accept them and love them.
Smother them but don't
shut them from the world.

Every emotion needs a home
just as every person
needs a home.
