Wrong direction?
As I said in my previous entry, I desire to use my gifts for God's glory.

However, I find myself writing stories more secular in nature. They have a point and even moral lesson if you look close enough, but is that what God would have me do? Am I writing these for publication only, knowing I have a greater likelyhood of being published in secular magazines instead of Christian ones?

I'm torn, because I can see both arguments. On one hand, I'm here to glorify God, so my writing must reflect that. And yet, God also commands us to go out into the world and spread the Good News. That means my stories should be a bit more subtle and not preachy, otherwise I risk pushing people away instead of bringing them closer to God.

Sometimes I think I should delete everything in my port or on my computer that does not have God as the focus. But then again, I think I should leave them as people may read my secular stuff, like them and move on to my other religious pieces, things they wouldn't have before.

In the end, I don't feel the Spirit moving me to remove them. I can only hope that's not because my own desires to be read and published are drowning out His voice.
