The Final Reckoning
The Final Reckoning

From dust to ashes
Dissolving wishes
As one encounters
Death and disease.

Man realizes
The futility of dreams
Of endless ambitions
Of eternal happiness

Are but harbingers
Of a more lasting
Reality called death.
Beautiful body made

Of dust turns to ashes
On the pyre that burns.
The soul, more alive
Than before drags its

Own heavy yoke of sin
and evil to the judgment hall
for the final reckoning.
