day 66 ~ old thing, new things
Have you ever held on to things that you know you might not use but can't let go? I do this a lot. When redecorating I tend to put things away and later on I find them again and think. Oh good I didn't get rid of it. Place them again and add something to it.

New things are great but i have those certain things that give me pleasure in seeing once in a while. Everyone wants new this and that when it comes to home decorating. New cupboards, new floors, new new new. I love new but I love it more when I did it myself. New cupboards would be wonderful but not for my pocket book. A friend of mine just redid her whole house. It looks amazing!!

We had to put our money towards the bigger things. New pipes, new roof, siding for the garage. All the stuff you don't say "wow" to. So I am taking on a project this summer of redoing my cupboards myself, with hubby of course. We are going to bead board my cupboards and spruce them up. I like the idea of old mixed with new. A few other projects on the way as well. Sanding and painting out all the frames around the inside doors and replacing them in the bedrooms. New toilet in the bathroom and repaint. So little by little things will be done but on a tighter budget and I will feel good in knowing that i did it myself.

It's a feel good thing for me to see a finished project that i did myself. Money can't buy that gratification.
