Written for Napowrimo poem # 18 April, 13 2016 Words: 113 Lines: 18 Boots On The Ground By Lisa Noe ![]() Many men must die in that arid land, Where there is so much heat and sand. They will call for boots on the ground, And the enemy will surround. They’ll kill and cripple many troops, The rest will form into groups We’ll be victorious in the fields, Our country, the soldiers shield. They fight for freedom, fight for family, They each come forth voluntarily. They love their land, protect what’s theirs, Though many of them will leave heirs. Like the men who came before, To fight in each and every war They will stand strong through all their pain, For in this world will freedom gain. Note: May God bless each and every soldier who goes off to war. May peace one day prevail. this is written for the American soldiers sent to the Middle East to war. |
