October 1st Required Assignment

Identify the following:
(1) Protagonist(s). Who is(are) your main character(s)?
(2) Flaw(s). What is(are) the protagonist's major flaw(s)?
(3) Goal(s). What does the protagonist want?
(4) Conflict. What is keeping them from their goal?
(5) Antagonist(s). Who(what) is creating the conflict?

The main characters are Leigh, Emy, and Gabe. Leigh is the daughter of Cornelius, a doctor/engineer who creates clockwork machinery and working biological parts with machinery. Leigh, has a clockwork pacemaker, she had a heart defect as a child. Emy is the clockwork cat, the main character of the story as she is the one everyone is after. A weird mix of clockwork, steam, and biological parts, she is sentient and living unlike the other clockwork pets of created by Cornelius. Gabe is Drakkon's, our antagonist, assistant. He is in love with Leigh, but is in conflict because Drakkon wants to steal Emy and learn her secrets. Leigh's clockwork heart is unknown of by anyone but Cornelius and Leigh.

Leigh is naive in her abilities in the lab. She doesn't understand her full potential and is too trusting of Gabe and Drakkon. She will reveal her secret at some point to either Gabe or Drakkon in the story, I think and they will go after her.
Gabe is naive in trusting Drakkon with Leigh's secret. He doesn't understand Drakkon's ultirior motives until it is too late. He is also blindly in love with Leigh and jealous of her suitor Drakkon's son. He is blind to the fact that Leigh doesn't like her suitor and this in turn will cause him to betray Leigh at some point.
Emy is the clockwork cat. Her flaws are the map of her insides hidden in a vault hidden within the lab.

Leigh wants to become a great doctor like her father. She doesn't fully understand that her father has crossed boundaries where ethics are concerned. Her goal is to save lives.
Gabe wants to be with Leigh. He is fully in love and when he senses, wrongly, that she doesn't like him, he goes so far as to betray her to get revenge.

Keeping them from their goals are naivety and blindness. When they learn the truth of the things they don't yet understand, they will be able to reach their goals. Until then there will be problems.

Drakkon is the antagonist in this story and his son Phineas plays a minor role. Drakkon is secretly at work for a major organization that is out to steal first Emy and her plans and later to dissect both Emy and Leigh (once Drakkon learns of Leigh's unique heart) so they can create military personnel that are super machine based by can think for themselves. He wants to take over the city of Philadelphia and then work towards the US. His ambitions will eventually be his downfall however he will cause much damage before that. Phineas is a minor antagonist in the side storyline about Gabe's love for Leigh. He is Leigh's proper suitor and Leigh pretends to like him to please her stepmother in order to still be able to work in the lab. He will be the reason Gabe betrays Leigh's secret.
