AT SCHOOL THE LESSON WAS POETRY
Robert Burns poems today
The town where he once stayed
Ayrshire I know it well
AYR a Scottish town he dwelled
His tale ‘Tammy Shanter.’
But Burns poetry I can’t banter
So there I stand
With teacher’s strap in his hand
Burns I can’t understand.
