The Lord's Protection on the Way

"14 The Lord says, 'I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
15 When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation.'”
(Psalm 91:14-16, NLT)

The Lord has given help to us
along life's winding road.
His shield and buckler guarding thus
will lift the heart's great load.

Protect He does as trust we do,
and call upon His Name.
He'll be with us all trouble through
to rescue from great blame.

The honor, that He gives each soul,
who loves this Holy One,
rewards long life to be made whole,
salvation in the Son.
