Unforgetable Love

The Demi-Sonnet is a new form invented in 2009 by American poet Erin Murphy, whose fourth book of poetry,Word Problems, is a collection of demi-sonnets. The structure consists of seven lines (half a Sonnet) of varying length that express a concise memorable truth with an internal rhyme or slant rhyme in the last line.

He left her all alone and frightened
It was against his will and desire
She dreamed of seeing him each night
The love they shared was ever so deep
Her thoughts remained of him holding her close
His strong arms around her keeping her safe
Needing him by her again, like he was when they first began.
