I have never seen a normal writer -E. Bergler (psychoanalyst)
So .. first of all ... just who is The Storyteller ? And why should you care about her blog at all?

Well, you might not care about my blog. But, I can tell you a little about me, and the method behind this little blog of mine.

I am a female storyteller and my previous moniker was the "The Absent-minded Professor". However, I felt that "The Storyteller" fit more easily with who I am. And no ... I was not, and am not, a "real" professor.

So, why did I call myself "The Absentminded Professor"? Well ... in a nutshell, it is because I believe that professorship is about much more than just one's secular education. It is about intellectual astuteness and an enlightened way of looking at humanity, and sharing that enlightenment with others.

Professors are, to some degree, scholars, in that they consider things, ponder things, conduct intellectual research, and in general, analyze the world and their place within it.

This is something that I have been doing for quite a long time, ever since I was a young girl. And I am proud to say that, according to my teachers, my writing skill showed it even then. (Most of my work on this site is dated, so if you want, you can search for and view some of my older pieces, if you'd like an example of my earliest prowess.)

Furthermore, I am also proud to have, during my teenage years, taught myself to understand and write in Old English by reading a great deal out of Shakespeare's cannon. "Tomorrow [E] and "The Fortnight [E] are two of my own attempts in the Shakespearean style of which I am most proud.

But, a part from all of this, I live a pretty mundane physical life, at the mercy of others and the universe, just like everyone else on this blue-green planet. I also, like everyone else, have particular personal concerns that cause me unrest and exhaust my stamina from time to time. But, for the most part, I will not gripe about them here.

Here, I will highlight excerpts of my inner journey:

To be true to myself. To learn acceptance. To stand-up for what I believe in. And to commit myself to writing.

I am working on my first novel right now, so I will talk about that from time to time as well.

So, welcome to "The Journey", dear reader. It is an exhausting one, a thankless one, and a scary one. But ... it is the only road to travel.

We will move slowly.

~~A parting quote: "Writers aren't exactly people. Or if they're any good, they're a whole lot of people trying to be one person." - F. Scott Fitzgerald
