Hmmm, I haven't visited my blog in a while. I think I'll post something in here now.
Misadventures in shopping...
This morning I took my daughter and her friend to the playground. Then we nipped over to the corner store, where I got into a conversation with someone there. As we were talking, the cheeky children were putting loads of things into my shopping basket! But the most interesting part came when I noticed my daughter's dress was tucked under her coat in the back. It wasn't like this before, I as I was fixing it, I patted down her pockets to make sure there were no stowaways. It wasn't her pockets I should have been patting down!
For what I felt next caught me by surprise. There was a rather large, solid lump on her bum. I felt inside her leggings - nope. Felt inside her knickers and would you believe it, there was a chocolate egg! My daughter put a choco egg insider her knickers!
I suppose she thought it was funny in some way. I really do not think she was trying to steal it. I thought it was funny, but it wasn't approprate to laugh or she would have thought it was okay to just stuff candy inside her clothes! So she got a lesson in shoplifting this morning and how it was wrong to do.
We bought the chocolate egg, because I didn't feel right putting it back after it had been in my daughter's knickers - even if we had just put clean ones on her! *Laugh*

You know you've hit rock bottom when the most exciting thing about your week is the invitation to a Tupperware party.

A couple of days ago all 9 of Zoe's barbies were positioned on her motorized ride-on jeep, smiling away on a joy ride. Those days are gone now. I walked in to see the jeep abandoned and all the barbies doing push-ups on the foor. Some in their swimsuits, others in their ball gowns and one in her square dancing dress! Zoe Drill Sargeant has gone away to a social even with Daddy, leaving her barbies to sweat it out.

Little Zoe girl has a soft spot for all things slimey. When it rains, the snails like to come out in the droves. As we walk along the sidewalk, she stops and picks them up from the path and moves them over to the grass or bushes. One time a 10 minute walk too us 30 because of it, but it was cute and time well spent. She also likes to rescue worms that decide to sun themselves, although she usually needs help with those because they are wriggly and hard to pick up and keep ahold of! As she grows, I'm sure she'll rescue other animals as well...just like I used to and still do when the opportunity strikes.

At one time I'd counted about 75 tadpoles in our pond. Now I'm lucky to count 20. They've grown their legs and have been crawling, climbing and possibly jumping out of the pond. One of them had his tail caught on the concrete somehow and I had to rescue him. They are so cute and I'm happy to have them around. Maybe they'll lower our insect population that is intent on killing my flowers! *Bigsmile*

Don't spray white wine vinegar on your plants to kill whiteflies (or greenflies). It will also kill your plants.

I also had balsamic and malt vinegar. Maybe I should have gone with the malt instead. Or maybe I should have dilluted it.

Oh man. I just killed my sunflower that was on the verge of blooming and my basil that was getting eaten anyway by something and possilby my young bell pepper plants. *Sick*

I have a bad case of the hiccups.

My hiccups are violent.

They are loud.

Sometimes they hurt.

And nothing cures them.

So I'll just sit here and hiccup for the next half hour and watch the amusement of others.

Hubby got a little carried away last week. He brought home FIVE fruit trees and SIX fruit bushes. We have a smallish garden with limited growing room because he wants to keep an area "open" for play. When you consider the back only gets sunlight on a small portion of the grass, we have very little quality growing spots. Nevertheless, we crammed them in! We planted the cherry tree in the front and in the back two apple trees, a pear and a plum tree. We also planted blueberry, gooseberry, black currant, red currant, raspberry and blackberry bushes. This should be interesting.

The manual said to allow 2 hours to build the greenhouse. Two days later and we still aren't finished! *Laugh*
The instructions are truly, truly bad. They are unclear, inaccurate and in some cases missing important things. We ended up with a lot of extra bolts and nuts. Should I be worried? And we have 100 clips that we cannot figure out how to attach.
Something tells me we shouldn't go into home building. *Pthb*

I was up early this morning. Zoe has been waking up before 7am now and since I do as well four days a week for my babysitting job, I figure I might as well on my days off too. I had washed some clothes last night, so went to hang them on the line first thing this morning. The sky was cloudless and the sun was bright. The air was crisp and cool. I saw a fish peeking out of the pond so sat for a while to watch them. While sitting there, four more fish appeared, all peeking out. This is the most I've seen at one time because they are usually hiding under leaves or in the deeper water. To top it off, a frog was taking a dip in the water as well and poked his head out! I've seen some frogs here and there while gardening, but had not seen any in the pond because I'm generally not out that early in the morning. So, of course this was all a real treat to me. I think I can learn to love these early mornings. I didn't know how much I was missing until now.

I've been asking him to buy sugar for over a month now. I put sugar in my coffee, but he doesn't. Therefore, every day he forgets to buy some. I have to drink coffee without, and sometimes I don't even drink it because, well...it's gross.
I sent him to work with a WDC sticky note on his forehead with a list of three items to buy, sugar being one of them. Amazingly, he bought some!

This morning I made my coffee.
I forgot to put sugar in it. *Worry*

So Chris is upstairs as I type attempting to change a stinky diaper. He's never done this before. He's only changed a wet one a couple of times. My instinct tells me to go intervene, but...I'm really curious as to how he'll fare! Will the stinky diaper defeat him? Will Zoe run around with a dirty butt? The suspense is killing me.
