Hard to believe this was 9 years ago! I thought it had just been a few! The plum tree is doing great and we look to have a bumper crop this year. The pear tree is finally coming along as well, but is still very small in comparison. The apple trees fizzled out. The raspberries multiply and we get a decent supply of them. The blackcurrant do really well, but nobody really like them because they are so sour. The blackberries never took off. The gooseberry did well, but was removed because hubby built a smoker there. The blueberries did not take at all either. The cherry tree out front does pretty well, but the cherries are very sour and usually the birds get them before we do!
You did the right thing on all counts. But could it be that Zoe, having watched you get pregnant and bring new life/gift into the world ... was trying to look pregnant? (She fumbled her way to about the areas necessary for such important projects) Shalom, shalom in Yeshua ha Meshiach
After 8 years of being in England, looking back on these initial writings, I realize how different I am, at least in my speech! Diapers are now nappies. Panties are now knickers (girls) or pants (boys) or sometimes just underwear. Trash is now rubbish. I still struggle to rename car parts, however, like how the word for hood is bonnet, but I do say boot now for the trunk! I use petrol and gas interchangeably. My accent has changed and when my family hear me talk they make fun of me. I know my accent has changed, and I'm okay with that because I didn't like my accent to begin with. I'm sure it will switch right back when I go back for a visit this year!
Years later now and Robert still works for the postal service. His delivery route changed years ago, however, and he no longer covers my area. Recently, more changes were made and as I was walking my son to preschool, I saw him walking, delivering the post door to door! Naturally, I inquired and everyone now rotates jobs, so he delivers post door to door some days and other days is driving the deliveries. Most importantly, he is still smiling!!
