But that's just my resume. My eclectic profile of vocations is only one of the ways in which I am uniquely me.
Here I chronicle my personal and professional goals and my efforts to achieve them. Occasionally I fail. Mostly, I take daily baby steps toward all my long-term goals. Much like the stories I pen, the songs I compose, and the business I run, I am always a work in progress.
I see! I don't go to doctors, lol. But I do try to get my flu shot. I've have to look into how expensive the COVID shot is now without insurance. Well, hopefully, by this time next year I won't have to worry about that anyway.
COVID is just like the flu in that, after it tried to wipe out the world, and humans developed a vaccine to fight it, it started a continuous process of survival-motivated evolution* that will probably plague us (ha!) for the rest of our lives. The Spanish flu reached pandemic status in 1918, but we still get an annual vaccination today to manage the newest iteration of the flu. The same thing is happening with COVID. My doctor offers me both flu and COVID shots every winter.
*I'm not a biologist. I don't know what I'm talking about.
"cake for breakfast, little-to-no exercise, and definitely inadequate hydration."
Wait a minute. Why are you writing about me?
This piece made me chuckle. I've never had an adverse reaction to a flu shot. The first COVID shot I received wasn't bad. I was a little sluggish. Now, that second COVID shot? I was so sick. Felt so horrible.
I'm curious though—why are you getting a COVID shot now? Truthfully, I haven't been staying up to date on COVID news. I did get my two shots after the vaccines came out years ago. Is this just a booster shot you've received? I know people who are immunocompromised who had to get those. If you don't mind me asking, of course.
Don't forget to carve out time from your schedule. Can't believe I'm saying this, but it does help to know you're going to be busy from, like, 10:30 to 11. Or whatever.
It's "The Bradbury" Thursday, so I owe you/myself/somebody a short story.
On literally Day 2 of my new blogging schedule, and I slept off and on all day on the couch. The COVID and/or flu shot(s) I received yesterday were not well-received by my underprepared body. Therefore, my goal of blogging before lunch was not met.
However, you all didn't know about my self-imposed daily deadline until just now, and it's still Thursday, so here we are.
