Blog for describing updates to some of my writing projects
I only have a few dozen readers, but I do sometimes get emails, asking technical questions or asking about the progress of certain storylines in my interactives. I don't especially mind getting emails, but I assume that for every query I get, there will likely be a few other people with the same question who haven't sent an email.|
This blog--which probably won't be updated much--will be to answer such questions in a publicly accessible forum.
|I have no idea if anyone will be able to see this post. I have no idea if I will even be able to post it. I just purchased a "Basic Membership" and the system told me to log out and log back in again so settings could be reconfigured.
Possibly this blog will disappear immediately after I log back in again. Possibly this blog will refuse to take this entry even before I do the logout/login.
Possibly it will still be here tomorrow morning, because that's when my Upgraded Membership expires, and they'll let me have the last 24 hours at that level.
Anyway, on the assumption that this message will be posted, I'm treating it as the last one. Remember:
BoM-specific updates henceforth will be made in the interactive itself, in a special blog-like branch.
General blogging of the sort I've been doing here will be carried on at seuzz.tumblr.com
Thanks again for following me here!
|My portfolio is now cleaned out and slightly reorganized. But if there was something I deleted that you wanted but didn't get, you can always send me an email asking for a copy.
Now I have to turn to saving off emails. There are several (old) email correspondences that I want to save, but the WdC system doesn't have an easy way of saving them off. So I'm reduced to saving them off one by one and renaming them as I go along. Very tedious.
|Reminder: My portfolio items will start coming down tomorrow or Sunday. This blog has already moved to seuzz.tumblr.com. Updates about BoM and other interactives will be posted in the BoM in a special section. There is a post there now -- "News: 11/10 [Commission Accepted]" -- explaining the storyline launched with "Lessons on the Sly" .
|Another reminder about the downsizing that is coming. The blog henceforth will be at seuzz.tumblr.com. BoM-related posts will be made through the interactive itself.
I will be downsizing my portfolio this weekend, so if there are any items in it that you particularly want to save, best to copy them onto your hard drive now. I've already saved copies of my own.
|As I said a couple of days ago, I assume this blog will be closing when I downgrade my account. On smith's [EDIT TO FIX DUMB AUTO-CORRECT: smitch's] recommendation, I looked at Tumblr as a home for a replacement, and I liked it enough to make a blog there: seuzz.tumblr.com. There's a couple of entries there now. Bookmark it if you're really interested.
I'm not going to use that for news about BoM, though. Instead, I'm turning one of the "Reserved" threads in BoM itself into a blog: "Updates: Behind the Mask" .
|My Upgraded Membership at WdC is about to expire. I've been looking at the membership benefits, and I don't see any really good reason to continue at the Upgraded level. As far as I'm concerned, it comes with only a couple of benefits that the Basic Membership doesn't, so I will probably be downgrading in a couple of days. (November 15 is the last day I'm paid up through.)
So what will change around here?
Well, if I read the terms right, this blog will disappear. I'm not sure that would be a tragedy. Anyway, I don't have to keep an official "blog" here in order to blog. I might just set up a Static Item or a Campfire and post blog items there.
I will also have to delete most of my portfolio, as the Basic Membership comes with a 50-item limit. That means I will be deleting all the Reading Summaries and Reviews, the Exercises, the Rising Stars Challenge Collection, and maybe some of the items in my Fiction folder. If there is anything in my portfolio that YOU want to keep, you'd best save it off onto your own computer.
And the interactives? If I read the terms correctly, then I will be able to keep and host 5 interactives. I aim to give "Dust to Dust" back to its creator, and that will leave me with three--Book of Masks, The Wandering Stars, and Student Bodies--so there shouldn't be any changes there.
The only other downgrades--changes to the email folders and the reintroduction of ads--will only be on my end and won't affect anyone else's experience.

I'm downgrading now because my Gift Point balance has decreased to the point where I can't automatically roll over to another yearly membership at the Upgraded level, but I've got enough for a Basic. I don't mind the downgrade, but I am going to need some more GPs at some point. (I don't like sharing credit card info with any online entity but Amazon.) I don't want to beg, so in the post below you'll find a "Commission Contract" outlining the terms under which I would be willing to write something. It's structured as additions to interactives like "Book of Masks," but it could be modified for stand-alone stories. If you're interested, email me.
