I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

yes. Wednesdays blizzard is actually almost gone. the sun came out this morning and turned the 6inch deep snow to green.

I think it's amazing the crow family joins you. I have hummingbirds every day and I love watching them. Birdwatching is immensely enjoyable. I am grateful that we choose to visit each day.

Judith, Dr. Suess published his first children's book And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street in 1937. During World War II, he took a brief hiatus from children's literature to illustrate political cartoons, and he worked in the animation and film department of the United States Army. My first experience with his work was How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which was published in 1957 and my grandmother bought it to read to me.

The library I get eBook's from recommended, "Not a Creature was Stirring" by Jane Haddam.

The book is a mystery featuring a retired FBI agent, who needs to combat the ho-hum of retirement. Gregor Demarkian, is a captivating character. He moves back to Philadelphia to a place he lived when he was young and becomes involved with the local church.

After reading the first book in this series I took up the next in the series, "Precious Blood." I was looking for some entertainment since TV is not very entertaining. The descriptive actions of the Catholic and Armenian social church add to the color of the action.

I'm not presently involved in any heavy reading. Just enough entertainment to forget the weather and snow outside.
