A Journal to impart knowledge and facts

July 22, 2015

I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

It seems like a good idea, but then--

Congratulations on your virtual blogging adventure! Hi! "Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you." by Walt Whitman.

Going for a walk outside today is a continuation of the prompt. The sun is shining brightly after a snowstorm, that put down a foot of snow overnight.
Now the grass in the yard is appearing because the sun is melting all the white fluff.

Going for a walk, but then, still to much snow. I would not be able to see footing well enough to feel safe.

One day a week ago. I took one of the dogs for a walk on a day like this. Stepped down into an unexpected slump in the ground and fell flat face down. A very slippery fall. Too soft and wet to get hurt. Just a Yuk experience.

Drifter, on a long leash, turned and looked at me, when I rolled over to look up at the sky. He came over beside me and sat down as if to say. I'll just wait here until you decide to get up.

I got on my feet and we walked on around a grove of trees and up around the barn. Every time /the snow melts off I hope we have had the last snowstorm of the year. Of course, it is only the middle of March. Not really surprising the weather blows up another storm.

Keep warm. Summer birds at the feeders.
