A Journal to impart knowledge and facts

July 22, 2015

I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

Congratulations on your virtual blogging adventure! Hi! "We expect you to spill the milk. But it is how you clean it up that really matters." by Sylvia Brown

This will be really random thinking. I did not intend for it to be in red, but I cannot figure out how to shut off the color after I colored the quote red.
Just a little spilled milk to start things off.

I guess in the long run spilled milk in this way kind of means something done that should not have been done.

In my life I have to think of real milk, because I have a lot of experience with real live liquid milk. My dad
always made a big deal out of the fact that they raised me on goats milk. As a child, probably about 3 years old, I remember visiting the dairy. Me,my Mother and my brother. Long rows of goats with heads in stantions during milking time.. In a very clean barn. We went there to buy milk.

The word stantion was not in our dictionary. Just in case, a stantion is a way to lock animals in place, so they don't wander off. Two upright bars, one on either side of the head of the animal are locked together at the top so the animal can not get it's head out. Not harmful in anyway just controlling, Most dairy animals are very used to standing around during milking time.

I tried to change the color to green now it stays on blue.
*Explode* Since we were basically living on a horse farm and there were lots of dairy farms near us. I started buying whole milk directly from farms. This was cows milk. Lots of cream in whole milk which is needed for yogurt and cheese,

At some point I bought a dairy goat, Someone gave us a buck and we started raising and milking goats, Also, bought a spinning wheel and started raising sheep. I used to think Nordica cottage cheese was the best on the market. Cottage cheese made with goats milk tastes just like Nordica cottage cheese.

Goats are playful and make good companions. They thrive on good grass forage land and good hay. They might play with a tin can, but never eat one. Also, don't expect them to clean the weeds out of anywhere, because they probably will prefer to eat in your hay field.

We had special cans with lids and handles, so the milk would not spill.

In today's market, the difference between Greek yogurt and other yogurt is marketing. Using the name Greek to sell real yogurt. Whole milk Greek yogurt is better for you, than a lot of the sugar, you will find in other types of yogurt out there.

Goats milk has a different molecular makeup. It is easier to digest. However, there is some superstitions that some churches attach to goats because of the word scapegoat. Also the word kid gets used in superstitious ways because of goats, Goat children are called kids. And another thought here, I looked into the geography and historical types of goats and sheep raised in different parts of the world, Some parts of world use sheep milk and call it goat milk. Goats in North America and sheep in North America are a different species, than found in other parts of the world.

So, don't spill your milk. Use it to cook, drink, and eat on your cereal.
Lunch time gotta go. See Ya!
Bye. *QuestionY* color *QuestionR*
