I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.
I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.
I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.
My grandmother's family name in Ireland was O'Tenney but when they came to the states they were Tenney, ditched the O. I would love to know more about my ancestors.
As a poet I despise any attempt, AI or not, to change my words.
I mostly write as I speak so grammar means less to me. I rarely write essays.
Thai is similar to English that both languages have silent letters and borrowed spelling. Spanish is much easier for spelling; Thai and English have simpler grammar though.
Some years back Dune by Frant Herbert struck me as an allegory of some Catholic church doctrines. I was not impressed with that story either. Game of Thrones reminded me of Dune. Both books had their own story. Also seemed to have something else going on inside the story.
Tell me about the Bible being used as a weapon? I read it as a look into passed historical reality.
Muslims, Jews, Christians, women's rights, ageing populations, health issues, insurance prices, and others, all must be the targets.
Prompt: What surprises have you discovered about your ancestors?
HI.
I guess surprises is not the word I would use. Very little surprises me. I have not verified it, but I am thinking some of my relatives were catholic at one time. Now claim to be protestant. I also found out ancestors were involved in shipping from an island off the British coast. There was a partial name change when they moved to the new world. (what is now the USA). There are some good family stories. Maybe true maybe not. I would like to know more about European family members on both sides of my family. Some members of the family claim only one-sided history. I like family stories of years gone by. I bet they were all interesting people with interesting lives.
