I came across this comment I'd made five years ago today re: the death penalty and other thoughts about criminal justice and thought that I'd re-share it here... The REAL way to save money (as opposed to having the death penalty) would be to save long periods of incarceration for those who need to be confined in order to keep the people on the outside safe.
