As soon as I decided to buckle down on my educational goals, my health started taking a nosedive. Go figure. I've never been so thankful to have good health insurance as I am now. After weeks of being poked and prodded, I'm looking for a new doctor. I think my current one has taken me as far as she can. My labs have been weird and I'm flat-out confused. At first, it was just signs of me suddenly becoming anemic for no reason. But after taking iron supplements, nothing has improved. Now, my platelet count is high. Also, I had two labs show a high thyroid level, then one normal, and now it's edging back up to high. I know I haven't had any medical training, but how normal is it for someone to just suddenly become anemic? Wouldn't there be a reason? Same thing with an overactive thyroid. Even if it is normal, I'd at least like to be told that much. There are a few other things, but I won't bore anyone. I've been referred to a Rheumatologist (appointment in late September) and am waiting to get an appointment with a Gasterologist. Honestly, though, I'm way too tired to do anything. I just spent nearly three days sleeping. It's difficult to do much of any work when all I want to do is sleep.
