What do you think? Can words change everything right away?

This is a question we all ask at sometime in our life: "What if these words could change everything right away?"3 Sometimes the answer is yes, and sometimes the answer if no. Love between human beings is difficult, precarious, and--in some cases--quickly turns to hate or dislike. Silence can be misconstrued as indifference, when one person is unsure about what to say or how to say it. Actions often speak louder than words, unfortunately sometimes the person witnessing the actions of a lover receives the wrong message. This can be attributed--in many cases--to experiences with previous lovers.


The best thing any two people can do is to communicate, and search for the truth in their relationship. Each person needs to both speak and listen. They need to take Max Ehhrmann's advice, "Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,..."4 They need to discuss the ups and downs in their relationship before going to outside sources. If they need to consult an outside source, they should go to a professional counselor or spiritual adviser rather than friends, relatives, or social media platforms.

I am feeling a little better this morning. Half of my trouble was a dirty CPAP. Amazing how technology to help us sleep better can also make us sick. Speaking of sleep, while cruising through the galaxy today we came upon the star Schnujo and found a planet of insomniacs.

is about insomnia. What do you do if you have insomnia?

What do I do when I have insomnia? For me prayer, chocolate, and sleeping in a massaging recliner. The recliner has a timer that can be set for either fifteen or thirty minutes and eight massaging settings. The use the number one or seven setting and, normally, set the timer for either fifteen or thirty minutes. Next I access the prayer app on my smartphone and pick either the Long Healing prayer or the Tablet of Ahmad. For the next nineteen days I will be saying the long healing prayer, and setting the timer for thirty minutes on the number seven massage setting. If I have chocolate, I eat the chocolate first. When I finish the prayer, I put my eye drops in my eyes and go to sleep.

Leprechauns are one of the pre-Christian myths that descended into Irish folklore. Do I believe leprechauns exists? I haven't seen a leprechaun, I've never met one, but I do write about them or about meeting them because they make a good story or poem. I suspect if one takes a close look at the myths surround them, those myths are stories that were--like all folktales--intended to teach a lesson. Most of the leprechaun myths I've heard or read appear to be teaching a lesson about greed.

How do I find my muse, when I experience mind-blank? How do I find my muse, when I want to write something? I've tried several different methods over the years. I've written several different poems, prose, and blog entries about my muse, in an attempt to describe it or find it. I've come to the conclusion that when I experience writer block or mind-blank, my muse is hiding rather than missing. Since my muse is just hiding, I have to find out where it's hiding and what it's hiding behind. This is where prayer, meditation, and gratitude comes in.


I like having a prayer app on my smartphone, because it gives me the ability to access the Baha'i prayers quickly and easily. One of the prayers I say everyday was revealed by 'Abdu'l-Baha for the Western States. One of the lines of this prayer is "assist me with the cohorts of Thy angels,"9 and it helps me overcome mind-blank. I say this prayer before I begin writing in the morning. There are other prayers for aid and assistance I say over the day or I recite the Remover of Difficulties, which was revealed by the Bab.

"Is there any Remover of difficulties save God? Say: Praised be God! He is God! All are His servants, and all abide by His bidding!"10

One prayer at a time,
I am finding my muse
no matter where it hides
because prayer clears my mind
of distracting thoughts
and expresses my gratitude
to the Glorious Lord.

What is America's most challenging issue? Racism! Justice will not prevail until America solves the problem of racism, which is an aberration that has plagued this country from the beginning. It is a moral wrong, a sin that still stains the souls of every person in America. Racism can only be cleansed by the complete acceptance of the oneness of humanity and the love of God.

I dream in images. I dream in color. I hear the words of people, scripture verses, and poems in my dreams. Sometime, on rare occasions, I see words and letters in my dreams. When I see words or letters, they appear to march across my dream-screen like subtitles across the bottom of a television screen. I can remember the images, colors, and spoken words better than I can remember the letters or written words. What does this tell about me? What does this say about the immortality of the soul?

What do my dreams tell about me? I'm not sure. I know that I've always dreamed in color, even when I was a child and we had a black and white television I dreamed in color.

What does this say about the immortality of my soul? For me, it confirms the immortality of my soul.

I've had several dreams that guided me on my spiritual search. Below is another attempt to describe a dream I had as a child. It is one of those dreams that has remained with me all my life. I've written about my dreams in "Dreams of Snow .


I saw Him
descending out of light,
robbed in the sun's bright splendor.

This quote is by one of my favorite poets, and it reminds me of a poem I wrote several years ago. I'm not sure what inspired this poem. It could have been a scripture verse, another poem, or a quote I read somewhere; since I didn't put a quote with the poem I doubt that was what inspired it. If a quote inspires a poem, I usually put it above the body of the poem.

Let's write about food today.

I'm not sure about food being the sincerest love a person has. I know its in the top five on the list of humanity's love objects. Food cross cultural, religious, class, and color barriers to bring people together on, almost, even terms. Food can also alienate people because of the picky tastes or bad memories some human beings have regarding food.


Food is important in many religions, an example of this is Christianity and the Baha'i Faith. In Christianity, when His Holiness Christ introduced the Lord's Supper He used bread and wine to symbolize His body and His blood. In the Baha'i Faith, the Nineteen-Day Feast was instituted by Baha'u'llah. Every nineteen-days Baha'is all over the world gather, either in person or online, to celebrate their version of the Lord's Supper.

Each Feast is referred to by the name of the Baha'i month it is held in. The last feast was the Feast of Kalimat or Words and the next feast will be the Feast of Kamal or Perfection. Each Feast is divided into three portions: (1) the spiritual portion, (2) the business portion, and (3) the social portion. During the social portion refreshments are served. These refreshments can either be a complete meal or just pastries with coffee, tea, or water. 'Abdu'l-Baha, the son of Baha'u'llah, revealed a special prayer for the Nineteen-Day Feast.

"O God! Dispel all those elements which are the cause of discord, and prepare for us all those things which are the cause of unity and accord! O God! Descend upon us Heavenly Fragrance and change this gathering into a gathering of Heaven! Grant to us every benefit and every food. Prepare for us the Food of Love! Give us the Food of Knowledge! Bestow on us the Food of Heavenly Illumination!"20

"Waves crash upon the seashore"25, reminded me of a poem I write a few years ago. My poem was inspired by a visit to San Diego where my brother and his family took Mom and I to the beach. I'm not sure when my brother took us to the beach; however, I think the poem was written close to the time of the visit because the Alzheimer's disease wasn't causing Mom memory difficulties that were noticeable.



Like battalion marching to war,
Transporting victims of slaughter,
Waves are marching into the shore.

Pushing lathered whitecaps before,
swells transport debris and water,
Like battalions marching to war.

As birds echoing the breakers roar,
Scavenge the sea edge for fodder,
Waves are marching into the shore.

Suffers paddle away from the shore,
Advancing past the breakwater.
Like battalions marching to war.

Billows recite ancient sea lore,
As tourist ramp in the water,
Wave are marching into the shore.

Disgorging refuse on the shore,
The sea returns our waste water:
Like battalions marching to war,
Waves are marching into the shore.

Each time I visit the seashore, the waves and the oceans speak to my soul. Sometimes the waves remind me of events happening across the planet. Sometimes the waves remind me of the Word of God, as it flows across the minds and souls of those reading a meditating on it. The ocean is a spiritual symbol that represents eternal life as well as the revealed Word of God. One of my favorite scripture verses is about the ocean of God's Word.

"Immerse yourselves in the ocean of My words, that ye may unravel its secrets, and discover all the pearls of wisdom that lie hid in its depths. Take heed that ye do not vacillate in your determination to embrace the truth of this Cause—a Cause through which the potentialities of the might of God have been revealed, and His sovereignty established. With faces beaming with joy, hasten ye unto Him. This is the changeless Faith of God, eternal in the past, eternal in the future. Let him that seeketh, attain it; and as to him that hath refused to seek it—verily, God is Self-Sufficient, above any need of His creatures."
