Venting is never in season. It upsets the comfy and cozy. But it's necessary to vent if only to relieve the pressure. A blog can be a semi-safe place to do that.
I go back to Thailand January 8th through March 1st. (Isaan: Mukdahan, Udon, Roi Et...)
Over a week in Roi Et in Oct/Nov. I felt good there.
I always read your posts here. And what does it matter? Maybe not much, but it can be good for you to vent on occasion, let it all out, and not have to defend yourself.
I would like to visit Suwannaphum some day as it has some history. Roi Et (the biggest town in Roi Et province) felt more open... but it's an important market town.
Lots of farang in Udon Thani (from many places). The key for me is improving my Thai/Lao.
I have friends who are AmericaN, but America scares me at the moment. Last week, the amount of MAGA hats I saw here was amazing - "Make America Go Away." I thought they were "Make Albo..." hats, but, no, America.
Australia has threatened the US with cutting off access to Pine Gap. Then what? I have heard US people say Australia should be another state. And I have a friend working at Sydney airport. He says that you'd get one USian a week coming through with a gun in their luggage. Now it's more than 1 a day. because apparently they think US laws now apply everywhere.
As you said - not all Americans. Far from it. But he was voted in (granted, with 38% of the available vote) but if others didn't like it, they should have made more noise about voting the other way...
