Dear 2023,

You started off blessing me with a beautiful sunset. I'm glad my friend invited me to the river at Cadron Settlement Park to watch. (Sunset is always so early in the winter--5pm.) Oranges and pinks and golds poked through the trees and reflected off the clouds against a sky that tried to hold onto the blues as long as it could.

For being the middle of winter, you surprisingly gave me a Spring-like day, with temperatures in the upper 60's and puffy white clouds. My brother and I were actually able to make it to church today too.

Does this bode well for the rest of 2023? That this year will be so much better? I hope so. There is so much I dream of for this year. I know--one day at a time. Maybe we can work together to share the good in the world.
