Prompt: “I do my best thinking at night when everyone else is sleeping. No interruptions. No noise. I like the feeling of being awake when no one else is.” ~ Jennifer Niven, All the Bright Places When do you do your best thinking? I used to love writing at night. I was such a night owl. But as time has gone on, I've begun to discover that I prefer early morning to write, as soon as possible after scripture study. The later the day goes on, the harder it is for my brain to think about and focus on my writing. So I've needed to build my days around getting as much work done as possible in the mornings and early afternoon. Maybe that's why I've been struggling so much this month to plot my story and build my world for NaNoWriMo. I haven't been working on it first thing in the mornings. Can I fix that during this last week and a half of October? |
