A musically-inspired challenge with writing prompts posted twice a month. |
|
The One-Line Lyric Challenge is back with new prompts! Two new songs will be posted each month with a related writing prompt. The challenge, should you chose to accept it, is as follows. Lyric Prompt: Write a poem or story and include the prompt lyric somewhere in your work, word for word. It's up to you how you want to incorporate the line. If you don't like the provided lyric prompt, you can pick a different line from the lyrics (only one line).Song Prompt: Write a poem or story inspired by the song. You do not need to include any lyrics directly, and in some cases there may not be any lyrics. Just write whatever the music or lyrics inspires. Try not to copy the song too closely. Please link back to the challenge somewhere in your entry using {item:lyric} or {image:2352588-70%} and post your entry as a link in the comments here. The Prizes: 5K GPs, a merit badge, plus a guaranteed review of your entry. If you enter both prompts that month, you will get double the prizes! This is a challenge, not a contest. So you get prizes just for entering! You are encouraged to listen and comment on the music or other people's entries, even if you don't plan to enter. ![]() |
| Yes, the One-Line Lyric Challenge is back again with a new look and a brand new lyric prompt for the New Year. With a song that you probably haven't heard before. Or at least, if you have, not the acoustic version. Which is better than the original, I think. The rules are the same: Enjoy the music and incorporate the given lyric prompt into a poem or story, due at the end of the month. "New Me" by Ella Eyre Song Lyrics ▶︎ Lyric Prompt: "Got a new key" |
