I’ve been trying to lose fat and get fit for a long time. This will be my blog about my fitness journey!
When a lot of people go from extremely fat to healthy and fit, they usually leave a lot out of their story. For instance, in online articles someone might have one paragraph describing when they were 300 pounds and sneaking fast food on their way home before eating a regular dinner with their family, then in the next paragraph they’re out running 5K’s and 10K’s.
I want to show the fitness journey from beginning to end, with a lot of details and the philosophical outlook I’ve come up with on my own to guide me on my fitness journey. Hopefully, my experience can help others.
I can't tell you the best (if any exists) way to lose weight, but I can tell you I support your efforts.
I help my wife on her personal efforts to lose about 20 pounds--she's been trying since my birthday, 14 Aug with a goal by our Anniversary, 27 Nov. It's slow going but she's lost ten pounds even after a 10-day cruise.
It sounds like you're on the right track. Keep it up!
i like your attitude my friend. I am now 175 pounds 6 feet 1 inch and age 69. i too try to eat healthy as I am pre-diabetic. I also go for a three mile walk every other day and hike up and down 17 stories in my apartment building twice a day and do yoga every morning as well
I hope you have great success. Part of this challenge is to keep going and adjust things as needed. If something doesn't go as planned, consider it practice and keep going.
Just in case: enjoy the beauty, the aroma, the texture, the flavor of whatever you decide to eat. Have all of the experience. All the experience involves slowly eating. When you chew thoroughly you get all the flavor. When you do this you slow down the process and your brain has time to process the eating experience and then the fullness function kicks in. I know when I slow down and really take the time to enjoy and completely experience food I am more satisfied more quickly.
On days you crave carbs, it's all about needing quick energy. You're right, complex carbs are best. Oatmeal is a good choice and I would need to research other options.
I do know for sure cottage cheese and greek yogurt are complete protein because they have all 9 emends.
