When I see "I could care less", I always read it as if there's an implied "as if" or "like" in front or it. It makes it less grating.

I've previously moaned about I/me/myself usage, and the dreaded "me and..." construct, so I won't go off on it again.

My list would be a lot longer and include such confusions as faze/phase, it's/its, they're/their/there, and "for all intensive porpoises."

Wow. I am 100% guilty of #4. Though I don't think I've ever spelled it out, I had no idea it was "pique."

And I agree with all the others as well. Especially #2. "I could care less" is a big pet peeve of mine. Hell, even my autocorrect suggested "couldn't" instead of "could" just now.

Thanks for sharing your expertise... I didn't think I'd need this at first, but I'm pushing out a would-be sci-fi story and it seems like it's headed towards a climactic fight scene

so I went ahead and read all three of them.

You're aware you went over the allowed video embed limit in the middle post, right?

Annette - In Word, when you click on the header you will open a new tab called 'Header and Footer Tools'. There is a box you can check in this tab for "Different first page". Do this and make the first page header blank.

As most publishers prefer Word (or affiliated programmes), this is the only way I know how. Sorry.

How do I make the header start on page 2?

I've tried it, but I couldn't figure out how to leave the first page without a header.

This book is currently empty.
