My mother let me play in the mud as a child... and there I play as an adult.

I stood in a mud puddle yesterday...
Ankle deep, but over my head.

Today, there is no puddle,
But the mud is thick and wet.
And as I walk across it,
In the mud my footsteps set.

Sometimes my steps may falter,
Others they may leap and dance,
And though I often hesitate,
With life I'll take my chance.

When following my footsteps, please remember:
*Bullet*
I have feelings,
I have hopes and dreams,
I have fears and scars,
And I share them all here.
*Bullet*

Judge me not for what I say:
*Bullet*
I speak my mind,
While not always kind,
I say my share
To clear my air.
*Bullet*

Here, you will find out about me:
*Bullet*
Things I do,
People I know,
How I live,
Places I go.

Wiping your feet isn't necessary,
but please remember
the footsteps you track in my mud
may not disappear.
I am a person with feelings,
they aren't always predictable
and they won't always leave you with
a warm fuzzy.
But such is life,
and such am I,
that I share them openly
here, with you.

Who am I?

If you've known me a while,
you may have read the last testament of my life:

If this is your first peek into me,
my name is Melissa.
I am 24 years old,
married,
from Kalamazoo, Michigan.

My husband's name is Jason.
I often refer to him as J.
He and I have our moments,
but we love each other very much.

I am a new mother!
My son's name is Ethan.
I will probably refer to him as E.
He was born on February 28, 2005.

I start this new chapter in life
as a wife, a mother,
and a person who tries
to do and be good in this world.

The rest is still unwritten,
but will unfold as time ticks away.
Follow me, if you like,
I promise not to go too fast.

Thank you for visiting my life.
