I was going to say, an anniversary picnic for my wife and me. It ended up being a four-day adventure and almost a thousand-mile spur-of-the-moment road trip. But, I read through the answers and saw an ice storm answer.
We lived in the country, down a one-mile-long, minimum-maintenance road, and had a late fall ice storm that left us stranded at home for just over a week. No way out, no working phone, and no power. We had ample groceries, a wood-burning stove for heat that we could also cook on, and plenty of lanterns and kerosene. The landscape was transformed into a world of crystal trees, grass, and plants, there were no interruptions, and no having to go to work. It was wonderful and my favorite vacation.
