 A Contest for Metrical Rhyming Poetry. |
 Do you love writing rhyming poetry? Poetry is the music of the heart and soul. This contest will focus solely on traditional poetry using meter and rhyme. It is through those devices that we begin to feel and hear the beat of the poetic heart.   Contest begins on the 1st of each month and ends at around noon on the last. There is a limit of 20 Entries per Round. The round will close early if this limit is reached. Must not exceed a rating of 18+. Discretionary limit of 50 lines. Can be old or new items, but must be in your portfolio. Items with Awardicons are not eligible. (Unless the Awardicon is a personal gift.) Individual poems from books are allowed if they are not individually Awarded. One entry per poet, per round. Poems may only be entered for one Round of this Contest. Must be submitted in Bitem or Entry format. Editing is allowed up to close of Round.There is no theme or prompt, but I do look for originality.
