Looking for a guiding light. Monthly short story rounds from July through December.

This contest is about making an example of yourself—in a good way.

This Round:
Lighthouse

At this point, if you're not one of the final six winners, you can't enter as a contestant. You can earn review rewards and a Merit Badge by reviewing, though!

Review any of the stories listed below and receive review rewards via the Public Review Page. Review all six and receive a Guide Merit Badge. (If you reviewed any of them during previous rounds, and are only now reviewing the rest, perfect! Let me know that in your post.)

Use (or choose not to use) your reviews, including the one you receive from the judge, up until the deadline.

Keep your story over 1,500 words, but there is no longer an upper limit.

You still can't use AI.

Keep to the prompt for which your story was written. Your story will still be judged on its use of the prompt.

Edit, revise, rewrite if you need to, but keep some recognizable smidgen of your original story.

Make a new post to link your item for this round. Please only post the version of the story you're submitting to this final round.
