One suggestion for getting a book done. It's called National Novel Writing Month where literally hundreds of thousands participate in the November challenge of writing 50 thousand words in only 30 days. I have really enjoyed the two past years of NaNoWriMo and, although I haven't won, it has been a wonderful experience. I mention this because I see that you left a work undone for 5 years.
