| H - My daughter home-schools her daughter, right now at the High School Freshman level, and indicated that my grand-daughter loves to write, but she is concerned about the girl's exposure to the less-savory elements of literature/authors. Children will always find their own way to an acquaintance to perdition, if it is so destined, and they'll handle it in their own way. I'd just rather NOT be the instrument of that delivery if the access levels cannot be adequately controlled on this site by a parent. Does anyone have any direct experience with the effectiveness of the access levels on this site? I have none, simply because I'm older than dirt, and very little offends me other than writing with no redeeming value. Can they be set up by a parent, with a reasonable expectation that the child will not encounter truly objectionable materials? I've found this site to be extremely helpful to me, both in providing me a venue with which to display some of my 'stuff,' and to take advantage of the suggestions of our very talented membership. Please advise, Regards, H - |
