Yes, Jeannie, politics is a sensitive issue. My husband and I have some different views, but we can discuss them peacefully. However, with people we know that have different perspectives, it gets to be something we just avoid talking about. My husband got into a really awkward situation once discussing the issue of marriage and abortion with a couple who was really Catholic and he didn't know! I was sitting across the table, trying my best to signal meaningfully to him, but he just kept going! Oh, dear, we haven't seen the couple since!
