Can anyone help me with time conversion?

This is probably the wrong place to ask but I missed a deadline yesterday (I think it was actually yesterday - see what follows!) because I had miscalculated the conversion from EST WDC time to my computer clock here in France. The entry was for Writers' Cramp. Does that competition run from 12 noon of one day to 12 noon of the next? I don't get it.
I have put the item (a short poem with a compulsory last line) on my Portfolio anyway and would feel a whole lot less mortified if someone read it. It's called 'No place for babies.'
