In a word, no.

Moderators and Senior Mods are volunteers who assume the various duties and tasks of helping the StoryMaster and StoryMistress 'moderate' this huge and complex site. We are folks who have not only spent time striving to perfect our writing craft, but have also demonstrated some degree of knowledge about the workings of the site and have displayed a willingness to help others with that knowledge.

We don't get paid monetarily, but I think it's safe to say the value we get from helping around WDC more than rewards us for the duties we perform. Speaking for myself, I learn more about the site each and every time I help someone. And I like that. *Delight*

And Charles, each of us was offered our position by the StoryMaster and StoryMistress; we did not seek the position, nor campaign for it. *Wink*
