I am running a contest and have asked for donations to increase prizes. I noticed almost every other contest has people donating but so far no one has donated to mine. Am I doing somthing wrong to get the donations? how do you get donations for a contest? just asking.

Hey Marti. I guess it might be a question of where are you publicizing your contest? If no one is getting the word on your contest to begin with, they won't know you're seeking donations. I haven't seen the contest you're referring to so I'll offer this other bit of advice.

Some folks donate just to be helpful; others donate because something is offered in return. This is not a bad thing, by the way. Sometimes incentives are a useful way to get donations. For example, offer a merit badge to folks who donate 30K or 40K in gift points. Since the MB cost 10K, you receive some GPs and they get a small token of your esteem, so to speak. *Smile*

Bottom line is publicity. But don't go spamming everyone by email; that's frowned up. You might place a link to your contest in your signature block.

Good luck.
